A series which slowly transitioned from sole Hyper-realist paintings to quasi abstract/realist works. The obstructive nature of juxtaposed imagery and jarring paint sensation really spoke to me, alongside my ongoing commentary on modern culture and social media.
This piece looks at selfie culture, past paced living and the joy of fleeting happiness. The haphazard style of realism with abrupt abstract swatches disrupt the harmony of the piece, this to purposefully give some sense of immanent pleasure seeking, irrelevant of time or place.
