Giralda Farms 2 (2013) Original Oil Painting by Anthony Galati

This one was painted en plein air - outside, on site. I kept the brushwork particularly loose and thick while painting the tree, which helped me move fast as the light shifted and the wind kept rearranging things. One of my favorite things in a scene like this is when a small beam of light breaks through the outer shape of a tree and lights up one little piece of branch somewhere inside the mass of darkness that all those leaves create. I also love big fluffy clouds, and I can often be found scanning the sky for them. Oil, painted en plein air.
