Original artwork description:

I have been painting some much smaller canvases recently with a view to working up to much larger pieces. This is Gerrard Street, the central artery of London's Chinatown. This street is always busy, day and night and I wanted to capture the constant movement of people up and down the street. The lighting is extremely important and creates the whole composition of the canvas.
The painting is framed in a chunky dark grey frame chosen to emphasise the night setting.

Materials used:

Oil paint on linen canvas
