Germinazione n.1 (2025) Original Mixed-media Sculpture by Milena Nicosia

28 x 28 x 16cm (framed)

£1,296.98

In this inaugural piece of her new series, Milena explores with remarkable delicacy the tension between industrial decay and the resurgence of nature. On a circular surface, two mechanical components corroded by time — perhaps fragments of a motor, perhaps relics of a bygone era — rise like icons of a world that has lost its race toward progress. And yet, from these metallic remains, three pale pink flowers bloom, upheld by slender blue stems, as though life itself were determined to speak where matter seems to have surrendered.
“Germination No.1” is a title that pulses with life and promise, like the first breath after a long silence. It perfectly encapsulates that quiet yet explosive act of being born from the ruins, of blooming where no one thought possible.
This work stands as a poetic statement on the inescapable coexistence between what humankind constructs and what nature reclaims. The chromatic contrast between the blossoms and rusted metal is not just visual, but conceptual.
