Each work develops through an extended process of layering, readjustment, and repainting, gradually arriving at a state of formal coherence or equilibrium. Central to my approach is an interest in how the viewer’s eye navigates a composition, and in the visual rhythms generated through repetition, colour interaction, and figure–ground relationships. I consider each work as a kind of map or territory, open to exploration and interpretation.
