Gates Farm Bridge, Vermont
Francois de Melogue
2023 | Archival pigment print on 100% cotton rag fine art paper | 25x17
From directly above, the Gates Farm Bridge bisects the Seymour River in the cold silence of a Vermont January. Its white clapboard walls are the only warm note in a palette stripped down to grey water, dark bark, and snow. The bare trees push outward from each bank, their branches fine as wire against the flat winter sky, casting no shadow worth mentioning on the ground below.
The current moves through a narrow channel between ice-crusted embankments, black and deliberate. Snow has packed itself into the angles of the bridge roof and drifted against the riverbanks in smooth, unbroken curves. The bridge carries it all without complaint, its old boards tightened by the cold, its usefulness unchanged by the century of winters it has outlasted.
Quality is about longevity. I use a high-resolution Canon R5 Mark II to capture every detail of the Vermont landscape. Each piece is printed in-studio using professional-grade Canon Pro-1100 and Epson P9000 systems with archival pigment inks on natural cotton paper to create a print that will last for generations.
Print only, with a 1/4 inch wide white bordering for convenient matting and (or) framing
Unmatted (unmounted) / unframed.

Shot on a Canon EOS R5 Mark II. Printed on a Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-1100 using museum-grade archival pigment inks on 100% cotton rag fine art paper.
