From a project, Defence of The Realm, documenting WW2 invasion defences in the South East of the UK. Monuments to a time when the nation was preparing to make a last stand against the might of the Third Reich, and now sadly falling into disrepair.
This pillbox, designed for five riflemen or light machine gunners is on The Military Canal - historically a Stop Line from the Napoleonic Wars, and is in Appledore in Kent UK.
