Original artwork description:

A sheep's skull draped in its own windblown fleece. From the fields above Lyme Park.
Manchester's Beetham Tower features in the background. It is just visible from the field.

The farmer here leaves dead animals to rot. Many are gruesome sights but this creature was laid out on its back, noble, staring upwards like the effigies of royalty and bishops in cathedrals.

Materials used:

chalk, charcoal, household paint, inks
