Original artwork description:

This is a view point from the edge of the abbey of Saint-Junien de Nouaillé-Maupertuis in Vienne (close to Poitiers) France. It's history dates back to the 7th century, and the abbey dates to the 12th century built in the Romanesque style. I chose to paint this small section which encompasses some of the moat and the edge of one of the fortified walls. It is painted in an impressionist style on canvasboard (canvas attached to board), and left to dry before given a suitable gloss varnish.

Materials used:

Oil paints (Rembrandt, Old Holland, Winsor & Newton, Gamblin, lefranc & bourgeois)
