Fragmented Bloom (2025)Acrylic painting by Anastassia Skopp
100 x 100 x 2cm (unframed) / 100 x 100cm (actual image size)
£1,565.1
Original artwork description
Original mixed media artwork on cotton canvas, 100 × 100 × 2 cm (39.4 × 39.4 × 0.8 inches).
This work examines fragmentation as a structural principle rather than a flaw.
The attached canvas fragment disrupts the pictorial continuity, introducing a physical interruption within the painted field. It operates as an inserted memory — a conscious intervention that shifts the narrative of the surface. The composition therefore becomes less about depiction and more about reconstruction.
The translucent pink gel in the lower section functions as a material trace — an index of emotional sediment. Its fluid presence contrasts with the linear botanical forms, creating tension between permanence and dissolution.
The painting reflects on identity as layered and provisional. Wholeness here is not seamless — it is constructed, negotiated, and continuously reassembled.
Mixed media using acrylic, spray paint and structural elements. Signed by the artist.
