Original artwork description
This painting is part of my series titled "Essence Revealed." The series explores the interplay between presence and absence, employing negative space as a vital component within a minimalist approach. Each piece begins with an intricate nature-inspired drawing, which is then deliberately deconstructed. Layers of paint partially cover the original sketches, creating a dynamic conversation between what is concealed and what is revealed. This deliberate use of negative space enhances the visual tension, inviting the viewer to explore beyond the apparent simplicity. New lines, drawn into and over the painted surfaces with a mix of chalk, graphite, and colored pencil. The series encourages contemplation of the subtle complexities and stories unfolding within the layers. It reflects a journey of deconstructive artistic expression, where the expanses of negative space reveal the hidden essence.
