I painted these four canvases some time ago. Since then, they have never been exhibited, but hung, as individual paintings around our home. But I often wondered how they would look framed as one piece. I made this simple softwood frame, and was pleased with the effect - I think the four together make a strong image. A Cabbage White, a Peacock, a Monarch, and an Orange Spot in various settings. Each canvas is 30 x 30 cms, and each is signed and titled on the reverse.

Materials used:

Highest quality artists' oil paint on cotton canvas.
