The Forest Nymph's Reflection

Size: 40 × 40 × 2 cm (15.7 × 15.7 × 0.8 in)
Materials: Oil on canvas
Support: Stretched canvas

The Forest Nymph's Reflection explores the quiet moment when a question appears within us and gradually changes the way we see our lives.

Sometimes change begins with a question that unexpectedly rises from within and stays with us long after it first appears.

“What do I really want?”
“Am I going where I truly want to go?”
“Why does something that once felt right suddenly feel different?”

The nymph lies among leaves and filtered sunlight, absorbed in her own thoughts. Her relaxed body and thoughtful expression capture that familiar moment when the world continues around us while an inner conversation quietly begins.

The forest becomes a space for this conversation. Light moves through the foliage in fragments, falling across the figure and surrounding shadows. These shifting patterns echo the way thoughts emerge — one leading to another, gradually bringing something into focus.

The olive-green palette connects the figure with the living landscape around her. Earthy greens, muted foliage tones, warm skin and filtered golden light create an intimate atmosphere of summer and solitude.

The Forest Nymph's Reflection continues the emotional journey of the Forest Nymphs series. The Forest Nymph's Midday Nap explores the ability to slow down and enjoy the present moment, while The Forest Nymph Awakens speaks about the sudden clarity that changes our perception. This work takes place in the quiet space between these states — when a question begins to form within us and opens the way toward something new.

Sometimes a single question is enough to make us look at our own life with fresh eyes.
