Ich denke, der Faszination des Farbenspieles der
Birken kann sich niemand entziehen. Mich
interessiert dir raue Oberfläche, der hell-dunkel Kontrast und die damit verbundene Zeichenhaftigkeit. Birken haben durch ihre Zeichnung schon fast eine ornamentale Wirkung. Es entsteht das Gefühl, als würden sie sich über den Bilderrand weiter
erstrecken. Ebenso staunend bin ich auch bei Wasserfällen.
Stundenlang kann ich bei dem brodelnden Wasser, den kurz auftauchenden Steinen im Strudel, den ruhigen Wasserinseln verharren und beobachten. Jedes Mal ging ich mit dem Vorsatz, dieses Schauspiel bildlich einfangen zu wollen.

I think, the fascination of the play of colors of
Nobody can escape birch trees. I am interested in the rough surface, the light-dark contrast and the associated symbolic quality. Birch trees have an almost ornamental effect due to their drawing. It creates the feeling, as if they would go beyond the edge of the picture stretch.
