“Forest 12” is part of my ongoing exploration of nature through expressive colour and bold brushwork. In this piece, I wanted to capture the stillness and quiet rhythm of the forest — but not in a literal way. Instead, I approached it emotionally, allowing my brush to move freely and instinctively, building texture and movement with each layer.
I used acrylics on canvas, working quickly and intuitively with large brushes. The colours aren’t what you’d see in a textbook, but they’re what I *feel* when I walk through a forest — cool shadows, bursts of light, flashes of warmth.
I want viewers to feel like they’re stepping into the scene, sensing the breeze and light, maybe even catching the scent of earth and trees. It’s an invitation to pause, breathe, and connect with the natural world through colour and motion.
