Oil on linen 47x42cm (18.5x16.5x0.8in) 2022, ready to hang. Commission, Private collection, Vigevano, IT.
This painting is a commission which I received from a customer in my hometown, Vigevano. She asked me to make a smaller version of a painting made by a renowned local artist, active in the XIX century, Luigi Bocca. Despite I usually refuse to make copies of artworks, I accepted this commission because I love this artwork and appreciate the artist who painted it. The original painting size is much bigger; I made a version four times smaller, but very detailed and similar to the one which hangs on the walls of the “Pinacoteca of Vigevano”, a local museum. The commissioner was very happy of the result, which now stands on her house’s walls.
