The village of Mortemart (Haute-Vienne, France) is picturesque, but it is not always the obvious things that compel me to want to paint. This camellia shrub was growing with wild abandon, laden with flowers as it pushed up outside of an old stone barn, opposite the 16th century convent.
It is painted with the finest oil paints, in an impressionist manner with broken colour, and the canvas has been attached to an MDF board for rigidity, allowing any potential buyer to easily fit it into a frame of their choosing. It has been left a sufficient amount of time before varnishing.
Oil paints (Rembrandt, Old Holland, Winsor & Newton, Gamblin, lefranc & bourgeois)
