This dramatic hand-built vessel has a function that is purely symbolic. The sculptural form radically changes when viewed from its different angles. The ethereal “flowers” atop the basket/boat armature are the result of a train of consciousness way of working through association. The contrast between the matte stoneware body and the glossy porcelain floral forms presents a contrast of quiet strength and timeless elegance.
