Floating peaks (2026)Acrylic painting
by Francesca Borgo

£2,052.58

This painting is part of my ongoing exploration of slow movement and shifting landscapes — spaces where form feels suspended rather than fixed. The layered, flowing shapes suggest clouds, mountain ridges, or currents of air, unfolding gently across the surface. The image is intentionally open, inviting the viewer to move between natural and inner landscapes.

Built with acrylic and natural sand on Yupo paper, the surface carries both texture and softness. Light emerges gradually through the layers, catching along ridges and dissolving again into shadow. The restrained monochromatic palette allows subtle variations to come forward, creating a sense of depth and quiet motion that changes with the light and the viewer’s distance.

For me, this work reflects moments of transition — when clarity has not yet arrived, but transformation is already taking place. It speaks to impermanence as a living process, and to the calm strength found in remaining present within uncertainty. The painting holds space for stillness, reflection, and the quiet continuity of becoming.
