Original artwork description:

Light and airy "Float No.26" is a mixed media painting on canvas by contemporary artist Sara Richardson. Float No.26 is created by combining densely layered paint applications with charcoal, delicate glazing and thought processes to develop a ethereal, airy composition that builds in soft light, gentle movements with an undercurrent of fortitude. While working on the Float Series, I thought a lot about the quote "It’s not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters." (Epictetus) and how a gentle approach can often be stronger. This painting is connected to another series I am working on titled "Belonging", however the "Float" works are about the next chapter in the visual story that is unfolding. You may recognize hints of botanical elements integrated with abstracted everyday objects.
