About the artwork

In Flame of Desire I explore the intensity of queer longing as both vulnerable and transformative. The male figure, surrounded by bursts of color like living fire, embodies desire as a force that consumes, ignites, and ultimately reshapes identity.

The flames are not destructive but illuminating — revealing the body as a site of passion, resilience, and beauty. They blur the line between ecstasy and suffering, echoing how queer desire has often been stigmatized yet persists as an unstoppable, radiant energy.

Through this work I wanted to reclaim the male nude as a space where eroticism and spirituality coexist. The circle of the frame itself becomes a halo, a portal, a sacred stage where the body burns not in shame but in brilliance.

Flame of Desire is a declaration that desire is not something to extinguish, but something to honor — a fire that makes us alive, visible, and free.
