The work reflects the serenity of African saline lakes with the most popular bird of the region - The ‘Lesser Flamingo'. It is the smallest species of flamingo but has the most charming pale pink, red and black plumage with a deep red long bill. The painting is simply a true representation of how the natural habitat of a bird is necessary for its existence. The presence of photosynthetic pigments in the algae found in these alkaline and saline lakes, gives birds their pink color. The composition sets a calm yet charismatic mood that transports us to experience the true beauty of wildlife.
