While painting this piece, I imagined sitting indoors, watching snow fall quietly beyond the window. Outside lies a calm, wintry city; inside, there is the warmth of coffee and everyday life. I wanted to hold this contrast—inside and outside, cold and warmth—within a single frame, allowing viewers to feel a sense of shelter and gentle, everyday poetry.
I used alternating thick and thin brushstrokes to render the snowy marks and reflections on the window, giving the surface a tactile quality. The outdoor street scene was painted with cooler, softer tones to enhance a sense of distance, while the interior objects were rendered with richer colors and clearer forms to create a visual focus. By letting light linger on the tabletop and the rim of the cup, I emphasized warmth and the stillness of time.
