Find your wings and fly away - Coastal path (small version) (2020)Relief by Amanda Deadman

This is the seventh of my "Find your wings and fly away" paintings, and is a smaller version using the same butterflies/watercolour paintings as the larger version.

The three watercolour paintings are different swirling shapes, in three different shades of aqua, blue, green, yellow and gold, and I also used white acrylic and gold ink.

Each of the three dimensional butterflies is punch-cut from the watercolour paintings and decoratively arranged in a graduating colour square in the centre of the frame.
They are attached to heavy watercolour paper within a white glazed deep box frame

The result is a vibrant and colourful modern relief design revealing individual butterflies on closer inspection, with different shadows cast from the up-turned wings depending on the direction of the light.
