Original artwork description
When a boy was born to a family in Japan, a koi flag was hung over the house. But, as they say, hope for good luck, but don't make a mistake yourself - carps have to fight for life, overcome obstacles in order to get food and continue the race. Koi is a symbol of not only good luck, but also victory, perseverance, courage in the fight. And also a symbol of an independent nature and fortitude. But at the same time, koi carps in Japan are a symbol of love, even the words "love" and "koi" are the same in Japanese.
The poppy, in turn, was a multifaceted symbol among different peoples. There are many legends and myths about it, poppy - a symbol of happiness, eternal love, joy. Buddhists were firmly convinced that the poppy appeared after the sleeping Buddha touched the ground with his eyelashes.
In China, there is a legend that those fish that can climb up the Yellow River fall into the realm of the Dragon and as a result of their struggle for success, the carp koi becomes a dragon or fish dragon.
