Find My Peace was painted during a search for stillness rather than resolution. I was interested in how movement can slowly soften into calm, and how contrasting tones can sit together without conflict. The composition grew horizontally, allowing the energy to travel across the canvas, easing and tightening as it went.

Greys, muted earth tones, and warmer rust notes move in layered passages, sometimes colliding, sometimes dissolving into one another. I allowed areas to remain restless while others quietened down, trusting that balance would come through contrast rather than control. The darker marks introduce tension, but they never dominate, instead anchoring the softer, more open sections around them.

At 30 x 72 inches, this piece has a wide, grounding presence that suits a space where you want calm without emptiness. It works particularly well in living areas or reflective environments, where the eye can move slowly across the surface and settle where it needs to. Find Me Peace is about allowing complexity to exist and finding a sense of calm within it rather than beyond it.
