Original artwork description
After a tricky start adjusting to the new car and regulations, he became increasingly competitive as the season progressed. His exciting, tough and well-judged defensive driving against Lewis Hamilton in Hungary allowed his young teammate Esteban Ocon to win Alpine’s first race in Formula One. Without Alonso’s perfect driving, Hamilton would surely have caught his teammate with a few laps to go and his first victory would have gone. However, the sublime Alonso guaranteed the excellent result for the whole Alpine team. This painting depicts the crucial pitstop as the Alpine mechanics race around the Spaniard’s car, rushing to get him back out ahead of the chasing Mercedes driver. This is the latest edition to my motion blur F1 set.
Here, the helmet and car are in focus, contrasting with the blurred crew overlapping in front and behind. The fluorescent paint on the wheel gun rigging adds perfectly to the contrast of the dark pits and metallic blue car.
