Contemporary figurative portrait, modern, layered mixed-media painting — In this portrait, I built the transparent layers slowly, letting washes of acrylic and soft pastels blur, blend, and re-emerge so the expression feels both calm and searching. The steady gaze invites the viewer in, yet holds something private just out of reach. For me, this piece is about presence — the beauty of simply being seen.
