I began painting cowgirls after moving from Manhattan to a tiny village outside of Santa Fe, New Mexico in 2020. I painted Feather in Her Hat in that Galisteo studio. It juxtaposes a realistic portrait of a cowgirl with a vibrant and stylized background to convey an image that is both modern, romantic, and dramatic. This painting is oil on canvas and currently unframed.
