Seeing this first beacon sailors would see returning from the new world, on a TV program, inspired me to paint this atmospheric painting of a stunning sunset over Fastnet Lighthouse. There has been a beacon to inform sailors on this coast since ancient times, and I wanted to catch the feeling of this place in colour and texture. The picture continues around the edge of this panoramic canvas giving it a 3-D effect. It is ready to hang and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity
