Original artwork description
One of a series of paintings inspired by the tidal waters of the Dee estuary. It is also inspired by one of my boys and his visit to Hilbre Island many years ago.
It is crucial to always check the tide times before making the journey across the sands to Hilbre Island and the other smaller estuary islands. . As the tide rushes in, the islands are cut off from the mainland for up to four hours.
Depending on weather conditions the tide can race in at great speed filling the deep gullies so it is very easy to be cut off if walking across the sands.
It has white painted sides there is no need for framing unless preferred and it has been signed on the back. It has been fitted with cord so is all ready to hang.
