One of only a few trees left along this roadside in Fife, Scotland. It is so sad that nearly all the trees along the edges of fields have been cut down to make way for modern agricultural methods. I found this lonely tree and related to it. I liked the way it was standing as a sentinel at the start of a farm track leading past a summer field recently cropped.

I wanted to broaden my palette in this painting by using some very hot orange colours. Framed and ready to hang on the wall.
