Original artwork description
This work emerged from a place of quiet yearning—a desire to paint the idea of distance itself. I wasn’t drawn to a specific topography but rather to the essence of unfamiliar places: a blur of impressions, faint echoes, and whispered intuitions. In "Faraway Lands," I layered tones of deep teal, oceanic blues, and muted highlights to convey depth and drift—both physical and emotional. The scattered linear forms hint at structures or paths, but they remain elusive, as though on the verge of being remembered or discovered. Creating this piece felt like navigating a dream without anchors, trusting the color and gesture to guide me through a journey without borders. It is a meditation on escape, exploration, and the quiet pull of the unknown.
