This canvas was born during a complex and deeply personal moment in my life, at the intersection of two extremes: the miracle of new life and the cold shadow of destruction.
This year, I became a mother for the first time. At the same time, my family and I are living through our fourth year of war in Ukraine.
My studio is located close to the active combat zone. I paint accompanied by air-raid sirens and the heavy, distant sounds of explosions from missiles and drones. This painting is a physical embodiment of my inner state and of this historical moment.
In the dark, cosmic void of the composition, the white female figures are not merely bodies — they are souls in motion. Some of them are falling, symbolizing the loss of hope extinguished by this conflict. And yet, within their fluidity there is a stubborn grace.
These women embody feminine energy — an energy that refuses to be broken.
