While creating this painting, I wanted to portray the untamed strength and enduring spirit of the North American bison through its commanding frontal presence. The snow-covered fur, unwavering gaze, and massive form evoke both quiet dignity and immense power. I used bold, expressive brushwork combined with impasto, scraping techniques, and energetic paint splatters to build texture and movement. A restrained palette of black, white, and gray, enriched with subtle warm and cool accents, allows the snow, fur, and light to merge naturally, celebrating the wild beauty, resilience, and noble character of this iconic animal.
