Gabriel says that he came across this labyrinth quite by accident. He'd indented to go somewhere, but where that was he wasn't quite sure. In any case he managed to get through the labyrinth fairly easily, though it occurred to him afterwards that since he wasn't sure where he was going he could've spent a bit more time walking about the labyrinth. After all, perhaps where he was trying to go was in the hidden corners somewhere.
