An en-plein air oil painting of a view across a bay in the evening light. Here I have captured a quite dynamic view of the flare on the water of the sun as it comes out from the drifting clouds. The light giving the rocks in the foreground a red flare. This is a very impressionistic painting. I like to sketch in paint in a loose style which, I think, creates a freshness and bold use of colour. Overall a wonderful plein air sketch which captures both mood and light.
