In evening’s breath of deepest blue,
The lighthouse stands, a steadfast flame.
The flags murmur secrets the wind already knew,
While the city glows in ochre and fire’s soft acclaim.

Amid wheels turning through gilded gleam,
Time itself grows tender, slow, and bright—
A drifting pause, a half-waking dream,
Held in the gentle cradle of the light.

I wanted to capture the vibrant softness of an evening at the harbor, blending light and emotion with brilliant fauvist touches. This lighthouse, a reassuring sentinel, emerges from a naïve, impressionistic setting filled with joyful simplicity.
