Etruscan Echoes (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Laura Rota

60 x 60 x 3cm (unframed) / 60 x 60cm (actual image size)

£1,116.9

This painting originated from a chromatic impression encountered in Etruscan painting.
During a visit to Fondazione Luigi Rovati, the artist experienced the reconstruction of the Tomb of the Chariots (500 BC), an encounter that left a deep emotional imprint.
Etruscan art resonates with her for its graphic simplicity, its full and vivid colors, and the essential rhythm of its figures. In that moment of solitude, the emotion remained unshared, held quietly within, without the awareness that it would later resurface in her work.
Rather than attempting to reproduce scenes or figures from the ancient frescoes, the experience settled as a trace of color in her memory.
In this work, those colors emerge again through her pictorial language: circular forms, fields of solid color, and a quiet balance between tones, enriched by the presence of gold—an element that consistently defines her artistic practice.
