Resistance and disobedience, a person crucified by social norms. Resistance is, in itself, an act of sacrifice, which is why the contours of the crucifixion appear in the painting, symbolizing the innocent victim, the suffering for another and for what one loves. The crucifixion is always a personal act of giving love, not seeking gratitude and it reminds us of whom we have given ourselves to and for whom we have suffered. Only we know that.
