Original artwork description:

Original Acrylic on Canvas (Unstretched) – Ships Rolled in a Protective Tube

“Eternal Identity II” is more than a painting, it is a dialogue between ancestry and awakening. Rooted in Afrocentric tradition yet expressed through the lens of modern abstraction and pop art, this elongated acrylic on canvas transforms the timeless African mask into a bold visual and spiritual statement.

Crafted with rich hues and thoughtful geometry, the work resonates with both heritage and contemporary meaning. It invites viewers to reflect on the masks we wear in daily life, social, emotional, and psychological—and the truths often hidden beneath them.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT/ INSPIRATION:
In the ancestral world, masks were never mere ornaments. They were vessels of spirit keepers of story, soul, and sacred legacy.
“Eternal Identity II” honours that heritage while also turning the mirror inward. In today’s society, masks are not carved of wood but formed through persona, performance, and disguise.
In a culture obsessed with appearances, masks may captivate, but only authenticity carries true power. This piece is a reminder: the greatest identity we can embody is our own.
