Essence serie. Moment of stillness (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Diana Ivashkevich

This original figurative painting explores the female form through expressive colour, simplified shapes and a contemporary visual language. The figure emerges from the composition without being completely defined, creating a balance between representation and abstraction.

Rather than focusing on anatomical precision, I wanted to capture a feeling of femininity, stillness and inner presence. The contours of the body interact with surrounding colours and brushstrokes, allowing the figure to become part of the painting rather than simply its subject.

The work was created entirely by hand in my studio using layers of acrylic paint. Visible brushwork, variations in colour and subtle surface textures preserve the physical process of painting and give the artwork its individual character.

This balance between the recognisable human form and abstraction is an important part of my artistic practice. I intentionally leave certain elements unresolved, giving the viewer space to form their own emotional connection and interpretation.
