Erosione II
mixed media on wooden board
40X59 cm.
Protected with a thin coat of varnish.
Unframed.
Signed on the back.
The work communicates a sense of modern archaeology. The layering, encrustations, and scratches suggest that beauty does not reside in the "new" or the "perfect," but in what has been transformed by time. It is a tribute to oxidation and wear: I want to invite you to find value in what we usually consider ruined or old, celebrating the resilience of matter.
The combination of copper tones (a metal extracted and processed by man) and textures reminiscent of rock or earth suggests a dialogue between the industrial and natural worlds.
My intent want to freeze time in a tactile "still frame." I don't want to "tell" a story, but rather to make the viewer "feel" the weight and density of reality. It is a work that speaks of transformation, the acceptance of imperfection, and inner strength.
