In this piece, I aim to capture an Autumn sunset, as it reflects on the misty lake beneath. The Cadmium Orange light, across the evening sky, is a striking palette.
The painting is slightly textured and catches the light, making the colours burst and glow.
My paintings are often inspired by my love and fascination with ever-changing skies and cloud formation. I try to capture the movement and mood of the skies and sea - Calm and dreamy, to dramatic and surreal.
The cadmium tones, are developed by layering and lifting the paint, to find previous hues and tones laid beneath, building depth, movement and highlights.
