At first glance, Igor Konovalov’s painting “Equilibrium equation” strikes with its realism and simplicity. However, only upon closer inspection can one understand how deep the meaning is hidden. The image of a man confidently walking on a tightrope against the backdrop of a rich blue sky aptly conveys the main theme of the “Equilibrium equation” series of works – the difficulty of finding balance and equilibrium in a world of chaos and constant dizzying changes in our everyday lives. Konovalov skillfully combines detailing and symbolism in his work. The man on the tightrope is each of us who daily tries to maintain a balance between duties, dreams, fears and hopes. The rich blue sky emphasizes the grandeur and boundlessness of space, where we are forced to find our own way, trying not to fall. The ubiquitous markers of Igor Konovalov’s work – “infanton bunnies” – deserve special attention. These small, almost invisible creatures symbolize the particles of information that are always present around us. The painting "Equilibrium equation" is a visual metaphor for our lives, where every step requires effort and concentration from us. It encourages the viewer to think about the fact that true balance begins with inner peace and harmony.
