Original artwork description:

"Encyclopedia" is the third and largest in a series of mixed media collages, all made from tiny pieces of found imagery amassed over many years. Vintage encyclopedias, map covers and reference books. Each tiny paper image was carefully selected for its unique color, texture, and subject. The imagery has a nostalgic mood to it with a colour palette reminiscent of the mid-century period in print.

The artist's meticulous process involves bonding the hand-cut paper onto wood, which is then laser cut into graphic dots. These individual pieces are meticulously arranged into a mathematical grid, creating a visually striking and harmonious design. The artwork's colour field ombre composition creates a sense of warmth and order from a distance and invites closer inspection.

83x83cm framed size
white wooden box frame with a UV acrylic glaze.

Materials used:

vintage maps, Birch wood, Paper
