When I created this painting, I wanted to capture the sensation of the soul drifting underwater, suspended between reality and dream. I used deep shades of blue to evoke a sense of tranquility, allowing the viewer to feel both solitude and freedom. The white dress spreads out gracefully in the water, symbolizing purity and fragility, while also suggesting an intimate dialogue with the subconscious self.
I employed a layered oil painting technique, beginning with a base of deep blue and gradually building up the highlights so the figure emerges from the darkness. By adding glimmers of light and bubbles, I emphasized the realism and movement of the underwater setting. I intentionally blurred certain details, using contrasts of light and shadow to enhance the dreamlike quality rather than pursuing strict realism.
