El Hornocal is a mountain formation located in the province of Jujuy, in northwestern Argentina. It is also known as "Cerro de los 14 colores".
It is located near the town of Humahuaca, in the Quebrada de Humahuaca, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. These mountains are part of the Andes mountain range and rise to a height of approximately 4,350 metres above sea level.
In the work, this majestic mountain dominates the landscape, characterised by its striking colours and unique shapes.
In the lower left corner, a tiny human figure stands alone and isolated in the face of such magnitude. His presence conveys a sense of smallness, fragility and respect for man in the face of nature's imposing manifestation.
