Eigg has a very happy life amongst the heather and rare wildflowers. In the summer months she watches the sea for minke whale and basking shark, but her favourite sight is watching otter playing on the shoreline. Eigg is very content with her island life - her home boasts some breathtaking views of the neighbouring islands. She loves watching Golden Eagle and White-tailed Sea Eagle but one of her favourite pastimes is finding rare orchids. Eigg is the kind and welcoming character in the cow paintings in this collection launched in October 2021 “Highland cows of Scottish islands”. I used a brush and palette knife to give her subtle textures to her face and a lovely layered fringe. I painted Eigg with the best quality artists acrylic paint on a luxury 4mm thick canvas board. She is sold unframed. However, I think she would look beautiful framed in a natural wood tray frame/floating frame. The painting measures 20.4 x 20.4cm (8 x 8 inches).
