“Echoes of Provence” is my attempt to capture a moment of silence, when old houses still hold the warmth of the sun and the memory of years gone by. I painted this work with broad, expressive brushstrokes to convey the breath of the southern wind and the vibration of light upon aged roof tiles. There is no luxury in these walls, yet they possess character, history, and a sense of calm that cannot be invented — only felt. The red roofs seem to speak with the sky, while the light dissolves the boundary between reality and memory. I wanted to portray not simply architecture, but the atmosphere of a small European town where time moves more slowly. Every brushstroke here is intuitive and emotional, like a musical improvisation. I intentionally left the texture rich and open so the painting could live and transform under different light. For me, this is a story about home, light, and inner peace. “Echoes of Provence” is a memory of a place I may never have visited, yet one that has always existed within me.
